Popularity of Hookahs

Even with indoor smoking bans restricting the use of hookahs in various indoor places and limiting the amount of hookah bars in North America and other cities across the world the popularity of hookahs is still increasing. Hookahs are used regularly to smoke marijuana, tobacco, and other products and are most commonly used amongst young adults and specifically college students.

Hookah Bars

Even though many hookah bars have gotten closed down due to the recent indoor smoking ban laws there are still a lot of them open. From 2000 to 2004 a few hundred hookah bars opened in North America with the recent rise in popularity. Since then many more hookah bars have opened as well and there continues to be a decent amount of hookah bars in major cities.

Not only has there been a rise in popularity of hookah bars and a growth of hookah businesses but using hookahs in general has also become a more traditional method all across the world. Hookahs were very popular in Europe and other continents but recently hookahs have been used regularly in North America as well. While the health benefits may not be substantial there is still the coolness factor attached with smoking from a hookah compared to smoking cigarettes when using tobacco.
