History of Hookah Bars

Hookahs were first introduced to people in the Middle East and specifically from Muslim lands. There is some controversy caused by smoking hookah as smoking is a behavior which is forbidden with Muslims so now Muslims generally don’t use hookahs as much. Hookahs are considered to be something which can cause harm to your body. Nonetheless the origins of hookahs date back to the Middle East and this is also where the first hookah bars opened up.

Hookah Cafes

Hookahs were introduced as an addition to many coffee and tea houses in the Middle East and Turkey way before hookahs became popular in other parts of the world. People would commonly smoke tobacco out of hookahs or other types of water pipes while visiting the café.

Coffee or tea shops which offered hookahs would usually provide single hose hookahs as it was more common for people to visit solo. Hookah bars usually have multi-hosed hookahs as people more commonly come in groups and socialize when at hookah lounges.

Now hookah bars are commonly visited by many people across the world and mostly in cities where there are no anti-tobacco laws. For those who are stuck in places with such laws they usually end up having to use herbal shisha in hookahs but it’s a lot healthier than tobacco anyways.
